Step 1: Measure, Mark and Cut the Pieces

Take few pieces of lumber and maple wood for cutting

Cut the maple plywood into different pieces so that you can use it for further cutting on the table saw.

Cut the plywood roughly to the size of the finished pieces and make sure you measure well before cutting the wood and try to measure 0.5 inches above to be on the safe side.

Now cut the pieces while keeping in mind the measurements, like this:

Cut the hardwood pieces to fix it on the edge of the plywood

Make sure that you will cut the lumber piece is a straight line and there is no lag in it.

Cut the quarter of the sticks and glue them to the plywood

After gluing fix both the parts with each other and let it dry.

Use a supportive tape so that it will not move or misplaced from the located angle or point.

Now trim the sides of the wood by using machine saw and make sure you repeat the same on both the sides.

Mark the lumber and cut it in order to make the cabinets

Pro Tips

  • Measure well before cutting the lumber.
  • Use a workbench to secure the lumber so that it doesn’t move while cutting.
  • Use straight measure tape instead of worn tape
  • Use the lumber as per the size of the table saw and do use a work bench so that the lumber doesn’t move and the grip on the lumber become stronger.
  • Use table saw and table router carefully to ensure safety.
  • Use gloves to prevent atopic dermatitis.
  • Use a sharp 2H pencil or a marker for proper marking on the wood.
  • Use small teeth blade on the table saw to achieve a much smoother edge.Try to cut every wooden part patiently for better finishing.

Step 2: Cutting the Lumber for Cabinet Making

Cabinets consist of six pieces so cut the lumber as per the requirement of cabinets and make sure you measure perfectly before cutting the pieces.

Start cutting the lumber along all the edges of carcass pieces. Cut the lumber by setting the table saw at 45-degree angle so that you will end making a rectangular cabinet.

Before cutting do make sure its balanced and cutting properly.

Cut the pieces into small pieces by using track saw.by cutting this, you would be able to handle the lumber easily and table saw can handle it well.

Cut the lumber from inside the back panel, so that in future you can join the two parts together.

Cut the sides of the lumber to make it thin so that will hold the sliding doors.

Make sure you are cutting the groves on the top piece deeper than the groves of the bottom piece.
Cut the lumber by completing the one rotation by raising and lowering your blade.

To hold the vertical partition of the sideboard cut the lumber after measuring it. Marked out the center of each panel

Now made the cut using the router machine. It will help you to cut to all the way through.

Square the edges of the lumber after cutting it from the router. And make sure that they are smooth.

Now let’s start assembling everything and start gluing the corner of the lumber to fix other lumber in it.

After gluing, join the other parts of the glued portion and make sure that they are well placed and attached to each other.

Make sure you join all four sides of the box and they are well placed and intact with each other.

Pro Tips

  • Use sander properly and make sure that all the sides of each portion are balanced and equally trimmed.
  • Grip the lumber firmly while cutting it via table saw.
  • Use straight measure tape instead of worn tape
  • Use a wood piece to support the cutting.
  • Use miter saw and try to cut as close as you can for better results.
  • Trim the wood well and don’t leave any lag behind.
  • Use scale measure to get the right measurement.
  • Glue every corner of the box so that it will get attached to it in a proper manner.

Step 3: Vertical Partition and Sideboard Working

Measure the size of the vertical partition and glued it in.

As per the measurement, cut the plywood to make the partition and to check try fixing it before you fix it permanently. If you find any flaw try fixing it on the spot.

Try to fix the wedge piece on the center of the partition

Now cut the lumber of the size of the back panel.

Cut the two pieces for the back panel and do check it before fixing it permanently.

Its size is good to cut the other piece as well.

Fix the back panel board with the help of wood nails.

Make sure that the distance of wood nails are equal and the board is not moving.

Start cutting the lumber to make the doors by cutting quarter inch maple plywood. Do not make any hook space, however, make space for a finger grab.

Now you can see how the door is going in and out. After fixing it will look like this

Pro Tips

  • Make a small sample prototype to match the direction of your project.
  • Use electric drill machine to cut the timber for screw fixing.
  • Use hand cutter to cut the extra parts of the base
  • Hold tightly the hand cutter before cutting any wood
  • Use pencil for and cleaner measurementIf you find any flaw fix them on the spot
  • Fill the glue in the holes of the base of bench and chair and then fix the legs
  • After fixing the base, let the glue dry

Step 4: Making a Frame and Gluing

Now start making a walnut frame and measure the size before cutting the lumber.

Now cut the wood as per the pieces you want.

Sander the upper and lower side of the lumber pieces, and make sure that every side is smooth and have 90-degree corners.

Use the miter gauge to cut the lumber as per the angle of the vertical pieces.

Marked out the lumber piece to cut for tops and bottoms of two sides.

Now cut the lumber after measuring for the tops and bottoms of the sideboard.

Now cut out the 82-degree vertical pieces.

Lay out the joinery and mark the sides to cut the pieces.

After measuring cut the lumber for joinery, like this:

Before fixing it permanently check it either it is good to go or not.

Hmm, seems like everything is going good, so glue sides and start fixing it one by one.

Now glued up the two legs and attached it with the cabinet and the two shelves.

Put any pressure object on the cabinet for proper grip and let it dry at the same position.

Pro Tips

  • Before filling the glue in the holes try to fix the lumber on other side and if you find any flaw try to fix it
  • Use safety gloves to ensure safety
  • Use an arc square for more accurate marking
  • Measure the sides of the bottom frame properly and make sure that bottom of the sideboard is fixed well
  • Smoothen the sides of sideboard properly
  • Make sure that the wooden nails you are hammering should be at the same distance and don’t look prominent above the sideboard
  • Use a hammer to fix the lumber and cut the lumber if any side is bigger than the required size
  • Don’t forget to smoothen all the sides of the table.

Step 5: Screwing, Sand, and Polish the Sideboard

Now screw the cabinets and try to screw them inside the drawer, as you can’t see the screws unless you open them so it’s a good place to screw it.

Glue the shelves and let them dry.

Measure and cut the long pieces that will fit in the back and front of the long unit.

After cutting this piece glue it with the cabinet and tie it so that it will not wobble.

Sander all the sides of the cabinet and make sure that all of it sides are smoother and plain.

Now use a hand sander to smoothen the sides and the corner of the cabinet and make sure there isn’t any spot left without sander.

Sander the frame of the cabinet as well and make sure that all of its sides are smoother too.

Now take a clean run and start polishing it one by one.

Make sure that you will cover and polish all the sides of the sideboard and there is no corner left.

Pro Tips

  • Do use safety gloves and mask to ensure the safety
  • Use hand cutter to cut the extra parts of the base
  • Use an electric sander to clean all the parts of the sideboard and make sure that you are not left with any side
  • Hold tightly the hand cutter before cutting any wood
  • Before fixing the other part, let the glue dry on the first part
  • Polish the base and cabinet properly
  • Use hand gloves while polishing the sideboard
  • Let the polish dry and don’t dry the sideboard under the sunlight
  • While the polish is drying, place the sideboard in some safe shed, away from children and pet animals
  • Before making the proper use of the sideboard do test it in some testing facility.
