Pallet wood wine racks are very handy to have around. You can store your favorite wines or keep your most prized bottle safe and sound without using a full wine cabinet or a large bar. A wine rack is inviting and makes a room cozier and definitely more fun.
And because a wine rack is made of pallet wood you can count on this to be strong, versatile and no doubt beautiful inside out. If you have never made a wine rack before then it could be time to make yours out of pallet wood. Just remember a few things when using pallets:
Understand that pallet wood is strong but there are old pallets that may have already started to rot deep inside the wood. There is also pallet wood that could be hollow and dented and using these would be had news. So always inspect your wood before using these even in a project as simple as a pallet wine rack.
Next, inspect the wall where you will be hanging your pallet wine rack. The wall should be strong, solid and perfect for hanging something as heavy as a wine rack. This is very important especially when you plan to construct a very large rack where a large number of wine bottles will be placed.
When it comes to decorative wine racks, place these on a solid and flat area like on your kitchen island, dining table or a kitchen countertop. Lastly, take good care of your pallet wine rack by applying a coat of paint, varnish or stain to lovingly preserve wood.
Wood breathes and is prone to rot, pests and cracks if you are not careful. Consider all these tips and you will be able to enjoy your beautiful handmade pallet wine rack for years to come.
