If the P515 ONE Plus is not exactly the tool for your project, take a look at these other reciprocating saws:
1. Makita JR3050T 11 Amp Reciprocating Saw
This is a corded reciprocating saw that you may find useful if you need to make powerful and fast cuts on stronger materials.
Like the P515 ONE Plus, the Makita JR3050T also has a toolless adjustment feature that lets you switch blades and shoes easily and quickly. Furthermore, it has ball and needle bearings which help lengthen its life.
It is just a little heavier than the P515 ONE Plus. Weighing 7.1 lbs, this is not your saw if you do a lot of big cutting projects frequently.
2. Bosch Bare-Tool CRS180B 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Reciprocating Saw
This saw from Bosch, one of the leading brands in power tools, sports a stroke length of 1 ⅛ in. that is very useful when you have to cut a huge chunk of material as quickly as possible.
It also allows you to change blades with one hand using their trademarked Lock-Jaw blade holder. Moreover, it has two speed settings that should help you attack a wide range of materials.
It has a no-load speed of 2,700 SPM, which is a little less than the P515 ONE Plus’ 3,100 SPM.
3. DEWALT DCS387B 20-volt MAX Compact Reciprocating Saw
The DCS387B is designed to be slim enough to fit and make cuts in the narrowest spaces. Unlike the P515 ONE Plus, this one lets you make flush cuts using its multi-position blade clamp.
Its no-load cutting speed is 2,900 SPM, which is just a few hundred strokes shy of the P515 ONE Plus’. One unique thing about the DCS387B is the LED light, which is incredibly useful in dark work sites.
It is also quite light, weighing only 5.4 lbs.
4. PORTER-CABLE PC75TRS 7.5 Amp Reciprocating Saw
Like the P515 ONE Plus, the PC75TRS from Porter-Cable has an overmolded handle and clamshell boot which provides a comfortable grip and better control.
It cuts at a rate of 3,200 SPM, which is slightly faster than the P515 ONE Plus and delivers strokes measuring 1 ⅛ in. Changing blades is easy using its twist-lock blade clamp.
The PC75TRS is a little bit on the heavy side too, though, so you may want to skip it when working on big projects that require long periods of cutting at awkward angles.
5. BLACK+DECKER BDCR20B 20V MAX Lithium Reciprocating Saw
The BDCR20B may just be the tool for thin materials that need some fast cuts. It has a no-load cutting speed of 3,000 SPM and a stroke length of ⅞ in.
The other thing that makes it stand out from the rest of the list is its weight--an amazingly light 3.8 lbs! On the other hand, the tool-free blade-changing system, the variable speed trigger, and the pivoting shoe are some features it shares with some of the other saws on this list.
