Do you want to build your own sofa pallet bed? The builder needed extra beds because of a new baby in the family, so this idea came into existence. With research and creativity, the builder created a platform bed with casters that can also serve as a sofa bed.

The boards were already pre-cut so the first step was to sand the pallets, prime, and paint. All pieces were laid out. The 4-inch blocks were attached to one end of the three 64-inch 2 by 6 boards using wood screws.

The screw holes were filled with wood filler and they were sanded. The 4 casters were attached after and paint was applied. The beds were placed in a corner, forming an L-shape, creating new sleeping and lounge area. This DIY woodwork project is free and cheap. You can also create yours following this tutorial!

The things you’ll need for this DIY outdoor pallet lounge project are pallets, measuring tape, sandpaper, and paint. The builders found their pallets on Craigslist that were ordered the wrong size so they wanted to get rid of them.

They used 15 pallets for this pallet lounge project. Overall, the project costs $40. If you like keeping the cost down with the rustic look, it is better not to paint it. For the construction time, the builder took 6 hours. Two hours were spent figuring out the measurements, 1 to 2 hours sanding, and 2 hours of painting.

The first step you need to do is to measure your pallets. You need to figure out if you’ll need to cut them or if you already like the size. The wood pallets measured 36 x 45 x 36 inches and they were a bit wide so the builders decided to cut them in halves using a regular hand saw.

You can cut down the middle section to the sides of the middle beams. If your benches will be against a wall, just simply prop it against it with the blocks on the back to keep it stable. You can be creative and add foam and cushions to make it a pallet sofa.

The first thing you need to do is sanding to get them into a decent condition using a sander. Pay attention sanding the edges, corners, and hard to reach areas. Use good quality sun-proof paint. After the project, you’ll be amazed at the final outcome of this picture.
