61) Pallet Bookshelf for Kids

Reading improves vocabulary, recognition, and problem-solving skills. And the best way to instill a love for books as a child is at a very young age. You can start teaching a toddler how to read at two and to do this you need actual books. Your child does not need a tablet or a computer to read but an actual book that he can hold and read.

These easy to make shelves can hold a large number of books each. Your little one can easily see and get the book that he wants to read too because the books are arranged faced front just like in a bookstore.

These bookshelves are made of only a few pallet pieces and can be constructed in just a few hours, no need to waste too much time in making large pallet shelves. And since you are making these for a child, you can paint this according to the color that your child likes. You can set this up in his room or in the living room or study.

62) Pallet Bar Stools

A pallet bar at home would not be complete without some pallet bar stools. These are stools made from only a few pieces of pallets. As you can see, these have a very simple design, something that you can actually make in just a few hours.

However, these stools are quite hard to sit on. You can improve this design by attaching some foam or some soft but durable fabric to cushion your backside. And because these stools were all made from pallets it won’t cost you anything to make these.

63) Pallet Desk Plan

A computer needs a computer table while books are placed on a shelf or on a study table when being read but what about a portable sewing machine? The answer is this huge pallet desk. This desk can be used as a multi-purpose desk that can hold a laptop or a sewing machine.

It has a wide top that will let you do two things at the same time. You can sew in one side and make patterns on the other. You can sew on one side and use the other side to keep your materials. Still, this is a large pallet desk that has a very easy design. And this can be constructed in less than an hour if you have all the materials ready.

64) Pallet Wood Kitchen Island

A kitchen island has a lot of uses. It can be a place to prepare meals, to cut vegetables, to chop meat, to warm cooked food. Occasionally, this area is also used to eat simply because it’s near the stove and you can easily reach the cooked food.

A kitchen island is mostly made from cement with a natural stone top. But this design uses pallets for the kitchen island body and top.

This may not be as durable and as strong as cement and natural stone but it is as beautiful as one. The top of this island was made smoother and more resistant to water because of applying at least two coats of stain or varnish.

It’s important to protect the wooden surface from water because this can cause damage due to rotting. Applying two coats can protect the wood and can also enhance the natural beauty of pallet wood.

65) Upcycled Hall Table

This is a table that has been resuscitated and brought from the dead. It was saved and given new life by using pallets to repair the top and the shelves. There are many uses for this table but we chose to call it a hall table because of its narrow and long shape which is perfect for a narrow area such as a hallway.

Despite its shape and size, it can hold small decorative items like vases, photographs, souvenirs, books and more. The drawers can also be used to keep letters, bills, and keys. There are so many things you can do with this upcycled table so never throw furniture away. You can still save it with pallet wood.

66) Pallet Entertainment Center

Trying to create an entertainment center in your home but just can’t afford the luxurious storage system you’ve been eyeing on? Would you believe that there are entertainment centers that are even more expensive than your television set?

So why do you have to spend that much when you can use pallet wood to make your own entertainment center?

Take a look at how pallet wood was used to create different sections at the bottom of this enormous television. Each section actually serves a purpose. Some storage sections can be used to store gaming controllers, some can hold remotes, some can keep cables while some can hold speakers and more.

All these sections, all this space for the price of nothing! And you can paint this according to the color you want so no need to take too long to shop.

Making this huge entertainment center can be an overwhelming task but still very easy to do. It could take you a weekend to finish this but no doubt you will be ready for your next movie night or game night.

67) TV Stand Made of Pallet Wood

This is a television stand that has a retro appeal. It is simply a half pallet frame with wrought iron legs. This stand may look small but it can actually hold a large LCD television. It can also accommodate a few necessities in its small storage spaces at the bottom like a DVD player or a gaming console.

Pallets are no doubt very strong despite its size. What’s great about pallet wood is that it can be used as it is (in frame form) or it can be dismantled and then assembled into different things. This TV stand is an example of using pallets in frame form and is definitely a great alternative to buying a costly stand.

68) Rustic Pallet Cabinet

I could think of a million uses for this rustic cabinet. You can use this in the kitchen to store food items or keep cooking utensils. You can use this as a spice rack, wine rack, canning cabinet and your cookbooks if you collect them.

This will work wonders in organizing your pantry too. You can keep bottled grains, pasta, oatmeal or spices or you can use this to keep canned items, picked fruits, and sauces.

In the bathroom, this handy pallet shelf can be used to keep toiletries, toilet paper, soaps, shampoo, lotions, potions, and powders. It can hold new towels, bath bombs, scented candles and more. It is just the right cabinet size to hold small knickknacks, makeup, shaving kits, blowers and other styling products.

It is heaven sent to the living room because it can be used to store DVDs, books, collectibles, game controllers, remotes and so on. I could go on and on but one thing’s important, never underestimate the versatility of a lowly storage pallet cabinet.

69) Dog Bed DIY

Dogs don’t belong in your bed no matter how small they may be. Dogs need to sleep in their own bed instead. Some dog owners find it very hard to train their dogs to sleep in their own bed but there is a trick to do this.

Build your dog a special bed just for him. A pallet bed will do nicely. You only need a few pieces of pallet wood even for a medium-sized dog. This bed has a simple design and your dog will surely love how he can curl up and just sleep.

Another technique is to first use a used or dirty shirt as the bedding. Your dog will recognize your smell and would immediately settle in. Use these simple techniques and you will surely be able to train your dog to sleep in his own bed.

70) A Reading Nook

Make a special place where your child can relax and read. This is a design plan that will construct a small corner reading area with a triangular seat and a low table. This is an area where no cell phones, tablets, and computers are allowed, only books. You might need a small shelf where your child can easily get her books to read.

The reading sofa is made from several pieces of pallet wood, designed to make a triangular seat. The pallets were painted according to your child’s favorite color. You can add some accessories like a soft cushion, some pillows, and a blanket. This will surely be a special space where your child can enjoy reading and will look forward to doing so for years to come.
