31) Wonderful DIY Bird Feeder
This wonderful DIY bird feeder is made out of cedar fence pickets, which means apart from being beautiful this DIY project is also a very durable one.
But what we think is the most priceless tip of this build is that Nick Ferry (maker of the video below) also involves his 4-year-old son in the process.
Well, not during the entire process but for a huge percent of the deal. Thus, apart from being complete, comprehensive, and easy-to-digest, the process of making this bird feeder is also extremely motivating and inspiring.
Personally, I like the dimensions of this bird feeder as it is not a tiny one.
I’ve seen way too many DIY enthusiasts going for some tiny bird feeders, which is not bad if you are planning on building more but not suitable if you are relying solely on a single miniature birdhouse.
32) Hanging Bird Feeder
This hanging bird feeder makes a wonderful option for both feeding and sheltering birds during the autumn-winter season. It is made out of poplar wood, although you can easily choose to use any other type of wood material you have available.
We highly appreciate the use of caulk for this DIY project as it will block the access of rain and/or snow efficiently. All in all, caulk makes up for a reliable insulation.
On another note, it is thanks to caulking that you can avoid raising the roof and refilling. We do not think this is the best DIY bird feeder plan if you are still a beginner, though.
There are no cut lists available, as well as no build plans so that you can check out each step of the process. Relying solely on the video tutorial we are sharing below might be too perplexing for newbie woodworking enthusiasts.
33) Bird Feeder with a Bird Table
Admittedly, when we stumbled across this bird feeder with a bird table DIY plan, we immediately fell in love.
The bird table is created by using 2×4 timber and plywood scraps. Personally, I find the rooftop design admirable. At first, it looks as if it is strictly attached, which can lead to issues when you need to clean the bird feeder and/or add extra snacks.
However, the roof is actually fixed on the ridge timber, and not to the gable ends.
Thus, after being glued and pinned, the roof is fixed excellently but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to make changes when needed by detaching it.
Moreover, we were happy to see that free plans are also available. These include the exact metrics of the project, as well as easy-to-digest sketch up photos. Thus, we believe anyone can make this bird feeder with a bird table.
34) Big Fancy Birdhouse
This big fancy birdhouse is nothing less than a stunning DIY project, which is made with lots of love and enthusiasm.
What’s intriguing about the creation of this birdhouse is that Memphis Applegate (the maker) didn’t really have access to the exact build plans and metrics for this DIY project. So he strived to make a good copy of what he saw, and in fact, he did a wonderful job.
This story is a fantastic example of how far our will and desire as DIYers can bring us. This fancy birdhouse is made out of cedar wood and coated deck screws.
A little bit of glue was only used at the peak of the roof. One minor possible disadvantage we find to this birdhouse is the perch.
Depending on the region you live in, a perch might or might not be an issue. It is good to know that perches tend to attract predators.
35) Lovely Bird House
We could hardly find something not to ADORE about this lovely birdhouse, which was Simply Wooden Creations’ entry to the Birdhouse Challenge contest back in 2015.
And, admittedly, we are extremely thankful for the opportunity to explore the video tutorial which reveals the making process of this birdhouse.
However, if you are still a novice at working with wood, you may find this DIY project hard to recreate yourself, as you will have to rely only on the video guidance.
No cut list or additional build plans are available. But apart from that, there are multiple tiny details which can get you inspired for building a beautiful birdfeeder even if you fail to copy this particular plan.
Personally, I am mesmerized by the fine touches on the rooftop design, created by adding small pieces of wood together with glue. And I am determined to try this design on my next birdfeeder, too.
36) Pallet Wood Bird House
This pallet wood birdhouse is not only affordable and easy to make but it is also exquisitely beautiful.
We think the design of this particular birdhouse can work well both during the autumn, as well as the spring season.
The video which goes through the making process of this DIY project is comprehensive enough to follow. There are no additional guidelines, such as the exact dimensions of the bird house, as well as sketch ups to help us out recreate this plan easier, though.
Despite those disadvantages, we believe that even beginners can build this birdhouse successfully. However, in the case you don’t have access to power tools, this won’t be the most suitable project for you.
A word of caution when it comes to working with pallets. You need to watch out for pallets, being treated with methyl bromide. This preservative is toxic to birds.
37) Rustic Bluebird House out of Pallets
If you are a fan of the rustic style, then this bluebird house, made out of pallets, will grab your heart in the blink of an eye. Also, we highly appreciate that recycled oak pallet was used for the construction of this bluebird house.
The video tutorial goes into great detail in the process of creating this DIY birdhouse; however, we don’t think this is the best project for you in the case you are still a newbie when it comes to working with wood.
Personally, I was more than merely satisfied to see that the birdhouse’s design allows you to open it up yearly as to clean out the trash and make up for a comfortable environment for the birds to enjoy inside.
Plus, this birdhouse also has its very own corncob bin, and we find it extremely smart and cute. When it comes to the assembly, it is accomplished through the use of homemade dowels.
38) Birdhouse from Pallet Scrap Wood
We are always happy to see DIY plans which allow us to take advantage of wood scraps, which are left behind from other projects.
That is the only way to make sure no materials get wasted, and also make up for a super affordable build. This particular birdhouse is designed with a mind for small bird species. Thus, the dimensions are very compact.
The side boards are 140 x 200 mm in height and 100 mm x 200 mm in width.
When it comes to the roof, it is 200mm x 200 mm in size. Apart from the explicit video tutorial, we like that this project is made with hand tools, which makes it a desirable option for those who do not have access to an extended set of instruments.
However, we do find a small disadvantage, too. It will be hard to clean the birdhouse as all the parts are precisely joined together.
39) Glass Bottle Bird Feeder
Although we have already listed one model of a glass bottle bird feeder previously in this list, we couldn’t help it but share this plan, too. We like that it can be customized depending on the glass bottle you have available.
Also, this particular build plan does not require you to poke a hole in the glass bottle, which will make your work much easier and safer, as opposed to the other glass bottle bird feeder plans.
On another note, we don’t think this is the best DIY bird feeder unless your level of experience for working with wood is at least about the intermediate level.
Personally, I was fascinated by the beautiful accents made to this project by the use of hard maple.
Nevertheless, the base is made out of cedar, which we label as one of the best wood materials for bird feeders and houses, thanks to its reliability and durability.
40) Stunning DIY Birdhouse
This DIY birdhouse is not merely stunning for its beautiful design. It is also a very easy one to build as it is made predominantly with the use of glue.
After the wood pieces are cut into suitable parts, you can let your imagination run wild and release your creativity with this exquisite build. In fact, we are always grateful to see such artistic DIY projects because this only proves that being a DIYer has so much to do with being an artist by heart.
Although we mention this stunning DIY birdhouse is an easy project, it does take some time to be able to accomplish it.
When it comes to the makers of this beautiful design, they share that it took about 100 hours to complete the project. But indeed, it can’t be any other way, keeping in mind all the tiny details which are added by hand.
